ALTAR GUILD

This volunteer group cares for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterwards.

Our worship services are made possible through the devotion of many people who attend Redeemer. Their common purpose is to use music, ritual, and decoration to create an atmosphere during services that will help congregants to develop their spiritual side and create a closer relationship with God.

WE SERVE ALL WHO WORSHIP & ATTEND REDEEMER SERVICES

The Altar Guild ministry is concerned with providing a place for worship in which we can all get in touch with and develop our spiritual side.  We prepare the space for worship services, baptisms, weddings, and funerals.

As the name implies, our main focus is on setting the altar for the celebration of the Eucharist.  We are responsible for the entire setting for worship throughout the nave, other rooms, and outdoor spaces.

New members to the Altar Guild will find a group of lively, friendly, tolerant people committed to their ministry and eager to welcome and train anyone who also feels called.  We think of ourselves as the ministry behind the scenes of worship services – rarely seen, but always there.  We welcome new members of any age and gender.  We even have one member who is a school-age child who takes part in his mother’s company!
