FAQs on STEWARDSHIP

  • An Intention to Give is a spiritual and religious commitment to God in support of our church home, the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. The annual giving campaign, held in 2023 in October and November, is a time when parishioners typically declare their Intention(s) to Give for the coming year, 2024. The Vestry uses the results to project revenues and to create responsible budgets.

Using a QCD (Qualified Charitable Distribution) is a great way to make your contribution to Redeemer while meeting a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). The money you contribute to Redeemer using a QCD counts toward your RMD, but it is not included in your adjusted gross income on your tax return. Since it is not included as income, it can't be claimed as a charitable deduction. All QCD's are handled directly through the custodian of your IRA. Always check with your IRA custodian, broker, or tax advisor to understand your personal situation.

  • If you have questions about financial stewardship, our clergy or church treasurer are happy to talk with you. Please telephone the church office at 804-379-8899.
