The 131st Annual Council of the Diocese of Southern Virginia will take place Saturday, February 25, 2023 in Williamsburg, at the DoubleTree Hotel located at 50 Kingsmill Road. We will convene Council at 9:30 a.m. and will adjourn by 4:30 p.m. We will not have a block of rooms at the hotel, so those who wish to travel to Williamsburg on Friday should make their own lodging arrangements.

Annual Council will include a combination of virtual and in-person events:

• As in the past two years, there will be live virtual events on the evenings of Tuesday and Thursday in Council Week, February 21 and 23.

• There will be no evening event on Ash Wednesday, February 22.

• While clergy and lay delegates will need to be present in-person to vote, the Council meeting on Saturday will be livestreamed for any others to watch.

• All Council events will be recorded for later viewing.

• We will continue to use electronic voting at Council this year. Each delegate will receive a voting device when they check in at registration on Saturday morning (no downloading apps!).
