Self-Care & Mental Health Awareness

Self-Care and Mental Health Awareness

Wednesday, May 26 at 7:00pm on Zoom

"20.6% of U.S. adults experienced mental illness in 2019 (51.5 million people). This represents 1 in 5 adults." - NAMI

What are self-care tools I can use to navigate changes with the pandemic? How can I end stigma and create hope for those affected by mental illness? Join the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer as we explore these questions and learn more about self-care and mental health from Jeff Conley, who works for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Central Virginia. No registration is required to join - we hope you spread the word and invite a friend!

Jeff Conley joined NAMI CVA in 2013 after learning that some of his friends and acquaintances were personally affected by mental illness; some dying by suicide. Since joining NAMI-CVA, Jeff has completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), NAMI Smarts Advocacy training, Youth Mental Health First Aid Mentor Training, and the Duke University non-profit management Certificate offered thru the Cameron Foundation. Jeff has provided mental health and suicide intervention presentations. Today, Jeff coordinates peer and family members programs and represents NAMI-CVA at stakeholder meetings, local health fairs, and regional health summits.
