Christmas Tree Lot

For more than 20 years the Christmas tree lot has been the primary fundraiser for outreach projects. Committee members and volunteers operate the tree lot, which opens the day after Thanksgiving, selling fresh trees, wreaths, and roping. Trees from Smokey Holler Tree Farm in western N. C., are cut shortly before delivery, ensuring that Redeemer can offer some of the highest quality trees in the Richmond area.

Profits from the tree lot support a range of Outreach ministries, including Feed More, CCHASM, and CARITAS, partnerships with Bensley Elementary School and the Peter Paul Development Center, and much more. The tree lot is self-sustaining; income from sales pays for all expenses. Every tree bears a flyer listing the charities and non-profits Outreach supports, reminding parishioners and the wider community of how they are helping.

Parishioners support the program with hundreds of volunteer hours put in by dozens of people from youth to senior citizens.
