Mission Undercover

INTRODUCTION

Mission Undercover is an expansion of Redeemer’s past diaper drives and seeks to collect both diapers and new underwear for low-income families in Richmond. Disposable diapers are expensive and, according to The Undies Project, underwear is the least donated item of clothing. Mission Undercover addresses these challenges by collecting undergarments and donating them to local nonprofits in the spring and fall.

Donating is easy. Purchase diapers and/or underwear and bring them to church on Sundays or drop them off in the church office M-F. We are currently seeking the following items: diapers (N-6), pullups; wipes, girls’ underwear (2T/3T–16), and boys’ underwear (XS–XL; 2–20).

The Fall 2020 Mission Undercover Collection

2021 COLLECTION INFO!

Our project includes a diaper drive and underwear collection for boys and girls to provide essential under garments to babies, toddlers, young children and adolescents in order to meet the needs of our low income families.

We are collecting diapers and wipes again to benefit the Capital Diaper Bank, a non-profit that helps needy families in the area. The under garments we gather will be for boys and girls ages 2-12 and will be distributed by the Caring Clothes Closet. In addition we will be soliciting quality feminine hygiene products for the disadvantaged girls and women so they can thrive in school and at work. Please donate unopened packages of period pads, panty liners and tampons to be dispersed by Sylvia’s Sisters.

Our congregation is invited to bring any of these products to the Red Wagon in Pinder Hall from April 6th through May 2nd. Monetary donations are always welcome. Just make the check out to Redeemer and specify on the “For” line if you prefer one mission to another.
